Conquest Quarterly January 07

We're Moving! (again.)

We have outgrown our current space and are eagerly anticipating a new facility - currently under construction, built to our specifications from the ground up. We plan to move during March 2007. The building is 70 percent larger, and will house most of our research, development, and management activities. Improved security, utilities, backup systems, and a sound booth for high-intensity audio testing are among the new welcome changes. The new location will be placed on our website in February. If you are a customer or supplier, we will notify you by email and snail mail.

More Milestones and Recognition Achieved Last Quarter

Independent Test Results
Penn State University tested our first MAX4 in an independent comparison of competing Acoustic Hailing Devices (AHDs) sponsored by the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD). Here are parts of the University's Applied Research Laboratory’s report which compared 5 other systems to ours:

"MAX4 warning signal projection authority was among the best tested"

"MAX4 showed superior voice warning message intelligibility as compared to other AHDs of similar size and power requirements. Only AHDs with far greater size, weight, and power requirements outperformed MAX4."

"MAX4 showed no problems with sustaining high intensity signals for extended periods of time"

"MAX4 showed better low frequency (500-2000 Hz) response than competitors of similar size and weight characteristics resulting in better sound propagation at critical intelligibility frequency bands"

Voices from the Sky
Since testing was performed by military users in July, we have received two additional orders for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) loudspeaker systems. The systems are flown and operated at 1000 to 4000 feet above ground level. They can be tailored to nearly any UAV or helicopter and provide high-clarity messaging for emergency warnings, military psychological operations or general announcements.

Loudness in Seattle
Most recently, on December 20 at Coast Guard Station Seattle we demonstrated the first-phase prototype of an "Unambiguous Warning System". We are under contract with the Coast Guard to develop the system. The device uses bright light, tones, and voice, and is designed to warn boaters away from high-value assets in restricted zones, and assist our Coast Guard for general long-range voice communications purposes. During the test, listeners aboard a 25' response boat reported that "readability" was a 5 out of a possible 5 at 2,000 yards (1.1 miles)! One of our competitors apparently heard the demonstration too. To our amazement, someone arrived in the middle of our operation with a widely known disk-shaped hailing device and asked for our permission to perform a comparison test. We agreed. At 1,000 yards the listeners reported the readability was a 3, our system's readability was a 5 (and to be good sports, we had disconnected half of our system, which resulted in an emitting surface of only 18 x 19 inches).

Trivia
Forty one years ago, Mickey Mantle endorsed the Fedtro Ultradeluxe megaphone, and each one came with a photo of him holding it and proclaiming "FEDTRO...the proven sound of champions." The megaphone was solid aluminum, used C batteries, and featured "Talk" and "Signal" modes, a tripod mount, shoulder strap and separable microphone.

Customers
Our customers currently include the U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, and two commercial companies who require specialized audio systems to be integrated with their products.
